Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and place a wire rack on top.
Rinse asparagus and pat dry. Trim off the tough woody ends, about 1–2 inches.
In a bowl, drizzle asparagus with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic salt and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
Gather 3–4 asparagus spears into a small bundle. Wrap one slice of bacon around each bundle, overlapping slightly so it stays secure.
Set each wrapped bundle on the prepared rack, seam side down, leaving space between them.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is crisp.
Optionally, flip the bundles and broil for 2–3 minutes to crisp the underside, watching closely to avoid burning.
Remove from oven and let cool briefly before serving.
