Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef (80/20 recommended) – for juicy patties
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese – for melty texture
  • 8 large lettuce leaves iceberg or butter lettuce – for wrapping
  • 2 medium tomatoes – sliced
  • 4 dill pickles – thinly sliced
  • ½ small red onion – sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt – to season
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper – freshly ground
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard – for authentic flavor
For the Special Sauce
  • ¼ cup 60 g mayonnaise – creamy base
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup – for sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish – adds tang
  • ½ teaspoon vinegar – balances flavors

Method
 

  1. Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until hot
  2. Season ground beef with salt and pepper, then divide into 4 equal patties
  3. Lightly spread mustard on one side of each patty for added flavor
  4. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through
  5. Add cheese slices during the last minute to melt
  6. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and vinegar to create the sauce
  7. Wash and dry lettuce leaves, keeping them whole for wrapping
  8. Lay lettuce leaves flat and spread a small amount of sauce
  9. Place cooked patties on top, followed by tomatoes, onions, and pickles
  10. Add extra sauce if desired and top with another lettuce layer
  11. Gently fold or wrap and serve immediately
