Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces pasta rotini or penne
  • 1 pound Italian sausage crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente
  3. Drain pasta and set aside
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  5. Add crumbled Italian sausage and cook until browned
  6. Stir in chopped onion and cook until softened
  7. Add minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant
  8. Pour in marinara sauce and heavy cream
  9. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper
  10. Stir until the sauce becomes creamy and well combined
  11. Add cooked pasta to the sauce and mix thoroughly
  12. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish
  13. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top
  14. Bake until cheese melts and becomes bubbly
  15. Garnish with chopped fresh basil before serving
