Ingredients
  

  • 1 large green cabbage about 1.2–1.5 kg – provides tender leaves for wrapping
  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef – adds rich, savory flavor
  • 1/2 lb 225 g ground pork – enhances juiciness and depth
  • 1 1/2 cups cauliflower rice – low-carb substitute for traditional rice
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped – adds sweetness and aroma
  • 3 cloves garlic minced – enhances flavor
  • 1 large egg – helps bind the filling
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley – adds freshness
  • 1 teaspoon salt – balances flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper – adds mild heat
  • 1 teaspoon paprika – adds warmth and color
Sauce
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes no sugar added – base of the sauce
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth – adds depth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil – enhances richness
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar – balances acidity
  • 1 teaspoon oregano – adds herb flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – boosts savory notes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully submerge the cabbage head
  2. Remove softened leaves one by one as they loosen
  3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, pork, cauliflower rice, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika
  4. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated
  5. Place a portion of filling onto each cabbage leaf
  6. Roll tightly, folding in the sides to secure the filling
  7. Arrange rolls seam-side down in a baking dish
  8. In a separate bowl, mix crushed tomatoes, broth, olive oil, vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  9. Pour sauce evenly over the cabbage rolls
  10. Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) until cabbage is tender and filling is cooked through
