Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Separate the onion slices into individual rings and pat them dry with a paper towel.
For each onion ring, sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded Parmesan onto the prepared baking sheet to form a small cheese “nest.”
Place one onion ring on top of each cheese mound. Then add another tablespoon of Parmesan on top of the onion ring and press gently so the cheese sticks.
Sprinkle a bit of salt, garlic powder, paprika, and optional Italian seasoning over each prepared ring.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese edges are golden and crispy.
Allow the onion rings to cool on the baking sheet for 10–15 minutes so they set up and crispen further before serving.
