Ingredients
  

  • lbs 680 g ribeye or beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Optional: sliced mushrooms or hot sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to a moderate baking temperature
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  3. Add sliced onions and bell peppers
  4. Sauté until tender and lightly caramelized
  5. Remove vegetables from skillet and set aside
  6. Add sliced steak to the skillet
  7. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper
  8. Cook until beef is browned but still juicy
  9. Return cooked peppers and onions to the skillet
  10. Pour beef broth and heavy cream into the mixture
  11. Stir to combine and simmer briefly
  12. Transfer mixture into a casserole dish
  13. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top
  14. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly
  15. Remove from oven and let rest briefly
  16. Serve warm and enjoy
