Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh green beans trimmed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Crunchy Topping
  • 1/2 cup crushed pork rinds
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Optional additions
  • Cooked bacon bits
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Red pepper flakes

Method
 

Prepare the green beans:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Boil or steam green beans until slightly tender
  3. Drain and set aside
Make the cream sauce:
  1. In a saucepan combine cream cheese and heavy cream
  2. Heat gently while stirring until smooth
  3. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted
Assemble the casserole:
  1. Place green beans in a baking dish
  2. Pour the cream cheese sauce over the beans
  3. Toss gently to coat evenly
Prepare the topping:
  1. Mix crushed pork rinds, parmesan cheese, and melted butter
  2. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole
Bake the casserole:
  1. Bake until the top becomes golden and crispy
  2. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving
