Ingredients
  

  • Cauliflower florets – 3 cups 300 g, lightly steamed until tender
  • Broccoli florets – 2 cups 200 g, lightly steamed
  • Smoked sausage – 12 oz 340 g, sliced into rounds
  • Butter – 3 tablespoons 45 g, for cooking and flavor
  • Onion – ½ medium 75 g, finely diced
  • Garlic – 3 cloves minced
  • Cream cheese – 8 oz 225 g, softened for creamy texture
  • Heavy cream – 1 cup 240 ml, forms the sauce base
  • Cheddar cheese – 1 ½ cups 150 g, shredded for melting
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon or to taste
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon
  • Paprika – ¼ teaspoon optional for added depth

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease the baking dish
  2. Steam broccoli and cauliflower until just tender, then set aside
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion until soft
  4. Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant
  5. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned
  6. Stir in cream cheese and heavy cream, mixing until smooth
  7. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted into a creamy sauce
  8. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika
  9. Combine steamed vegetables with the sausage and sauce mixture
  10. Transfer everything into the baking dish and spread evenly
  11. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top
  12. Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for a crispy top
  13. Let rest for a few minutes before serving
