Ingredients

  • For the Salmon Bites
  • 680 g salmon fillet skin removed and cut into 3 cm cubes
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • 60 ml honey
  • 30 ml soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice or rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or sesame seeds

Method

  1. Pat the salmon cubes dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture
  2. Place the salmon in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil
  3. Season with sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder
  4. Toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3 minutes
  6. Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces
  7. Air fry for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the salmon is cooked through and lightly crisp on the edges
  8. While the salmon cooks, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice (or rice vinegar), cornstarch, and water in a small saucepan
  9. Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and glossy
  10. Remove the sauce from heat once it reaches a syrupy consistency
  11. Transfer the cooked salmon bites to a bowl and pour the warm honey garlic sauce over them
  12. Toss gently to coat every piece evenly
  13. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired
  14. Serve immediately while warm and sticky
