Preheat the oven to 375–400°F (190–200°C).
Grease a standard muffin tin to help the pizza roses keep their shape.
On a lightly floured surface, unroll the pizza dough and cut it into long strips about 1–2 inches wide.
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce down the center of each strip, leaving a small border.
Place mozzarella slices or shredded cheese over the sauce.
Arrange pepperoni slices along the top edge so half of each slice extends above the dough (forming “petals”).
Fold the bottom half of the dough up and over the toppings.
Roll the strip from one end to the other to form a rose shape.
Place each rose into a well of the prepared muffin tin.
Bake for 12–20 minutes, until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let cool slightly before serving warm with dipping sauce.
