Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags or 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 2 –3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: extra strawberry slices lemon slices, fresh mint leaves

Method
 

  1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle
  2. Remove from heat and add hibiscus tea bags or dried flowers
  3. Let steep for 5–7 minutes until deep red color develops
  4. Remove tea bags or strain out flowers and allow tea to cool
  5. Add sliced strawberries and a small portion of tea into a blender
  6. Blend until smooth to create a fresh strawberry puree
  7. Optionally strain puree for a smoother consistency
  8. Pour remaining cooled tea into a pitcher
  9. Add strawberry puree, lemon juice, and maple syrup
  10. Stir thoroughly until everything is well combined
  11. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed
  12. Add ice and pour into serving glasses
  13. Garnish with fresh strawberries, lemon slices, or mint
