Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray or light oil spray
Optional dipping sauces
  • Caramel sauce
  • Vanilla yogurt dip
  • Chocolate sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Peel the apples and cut them into fry-shaped slices
  3. In one bowl place the flour
  4. In a second bowl whisk eggs with vanilla extract
  5. In a third bowl mix breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and sugar
  6. Dip apple slices first into flour
  7. Coat them in the egg mixture
  8. Roll them in the cinnamon breadcrumb mixture
  9. Place coated apple fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer
  10. Lightly spray with cooking spray
  11. Air fry until golden and crispy
  12. Shake the basket halfway through cooking
  13. Remove and sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar if desired
