Ingredients

  • Apples – 3 medium about 500 g, peeled, cored, and sliced into ½-inch rings
  • All-purpose flour – ½ cup 60 g, for light coating
  • Granulated sugar – ⅓ cup 65 g, divided for batter and coating
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 ½ teaspoons divided for flavoring
  • Large eggs – 2 beaten for binding
  • Milk – ¼ cup 60 ml, to create a smooth batter
  • Unsalted butter – 2 tablespoons 28 g, melted for brushing
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon optional for added aroma

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for even cooking and better texture
  2. Peel, core, and slice apples into evenly sized rings to ensure uniform cooking
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, half of the sugar, and half of the cinnamon to create a dry coating
  4. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together until smooth to form the batter
  5. Dip each apple ring into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated
  6. Lightly coat the battered rings with the flour mixture for a crisp finish
  7. Place the rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping for even cooking
  8. Air fry for 7–9 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and tender
  9. Brush the hot apple rings with melted butter immediately after cooking
  10. Toss them in the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated
  11. Serve warm for the best flavor and texture
