Ingredients

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 12 small fresh mozzarella balls about 1 inch each
  • 12 pitted black olives
  • 1 small carrot cut into tiny triangle pieces (for noses)
  • 12 fresh basil leaves
  • 12 short wooden skewers or cocktail sticks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. Slice a very thin piece off the bottom of each tomato so it sits flat.
  3. Slide one cherry tomato onto a skewer, followed by a basil leaf.
  4. Add a mozzarella ball on top of the basil.
  5. Finish with a second cherry tomato to form the snowman’s head.
  6. Press a small carrot triangle into the top tomato to create the nose.
  7. Use small pieces of black olive to form eyes on the tomato.
  8. Repeat with remaining ingredients until all skewers are assembled.
  9. Arrange the snowman skewers on a serving platter.
  10. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  11. Season gently with salt and black pepper just before serving.
