Method
- Slice each sub roll lengthwise without cutting all the way through
- In a small bowl, whisk together extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to make the Italian dressing
- Layer the bottom of each roll with Genoa salami, capicola (or ham), provolone cheese, and turkey breast
- Add shredded lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, pepperoncini, and roasted red peppers over the meats and cheese
- Drizzle the prepared Italian dressing generously over the sandwich fillings
- If using, add fresh basil leaves for extra herbaceous brightness
- Close the sandwiches gently, press slightly, and serve immediately
