Ingredients
  

  • 2 ribeye steaks 225 g (8 oz) each, about 2.5 cm (1 inch) thick
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter optional, for finishing
  • 2 cloves garlic lightly crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme

Method
 

  1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to rest at room temperature for 20 minutes
  2. Pat the steaks dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove surface moisture
  3. Brush both sides of the steaks evenly with olive oil
  4. Season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika if using
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes
  6. Place the seasoned steaks in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap
  7. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking
  8. Check internal temperature using a meat thermometer (52–54°C / 125–130°F for medium-rare, 57–60°C / 135–140°F for medium)
  9. Remove steaks from the air fryer and place on a cutting board or plate
  10. Top with butter, crushed garlic, and fresh herbs while resting
  11. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving
