Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the chicken breasts into a baking dish.
Season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken, coating each piece well.
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon evenly across the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
Remove from the oven and top each chicken breast with shredded cheddar. Return to the oven for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let rest briefly, then garnish with parsley or green onions if desired. Serve warm.
