Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450 g white fish fillets (tilapia or cod) – mild flavor and flaky texture
  • 1 tbsp 15 ml olive oil – helps seasoning stick
  • 1 tsp chili powder – adds warmth
  • 1/2 tsp paprika – gives color and mild smokiness
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin – adds earthy depth
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder – enhances savory flavor
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper – optional heat boost
  • 1/2 tsp salt – balances flavors
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper – mild spice
For cilantro lime slaw:
  • 2 cups 150 g coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots) – crunchy base
  • 1/3 cup 80 ml mayonnaise – creamy texture
  • 2 tbsp 30 ml fresh lime juice – bright acidity
  • 1/4 cup 15 g chopped cilantro – fresh flavor
  • 1 clove garlic minced – sharp depth
  • 1/2 tsp salt – seasoning
For tacos:
  • 6 –8 small flour or corn tortillas – soft base
  • 1 lime cut into wedges – for serving
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices hot sauce, shredded cheese

Method
 

  1. Pat fish fillets dry and cut into strips for even cooking
  2. Mix chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper
  3. Brush fish with olive oil and coat evenly with seasoning
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375–400°F (190–200°C)
  5. Place fish in a single layer in the air fryer basket
  6. Cook for 8–10 minutes until flaky and lightly crisp
  7. While fish cooks, combine coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, lime juice, cilantro, garlic, and salt
  8. Toss slaw until evenly coated and refrigerate briefly
  9. Warm tortillas in a pan or microwave
  10. Assemble tacos by adding fish, topping with slaw, and finishing with lime juice
  11. Add optional toppings as desired and serve immediately
