Ingredients
  

  • 450 g boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into 1 cm strips
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into 1 cm slices
  • 1 yellow bell pepper cut into 1 cm slices
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into 1 cm slices
  • 1 medium yellow or red onion sliced into 1 cm strips
  • 15 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 g chili powder
  • 5 g smoked paprika
  • 3 g ground cumin
  • 5 g garlic powder
  • 5 g onion powder
  • 5 g fine salt
  • 3 g black pepper
  • 6 –8 small flour tortillas for serving
  • Optional garnishes: sour cream guacamole, lime wedges, chopped cilantro

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine chicken strips, bell pepper slices, and onion strips
  2. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the chicken and vegetables
  3. Sprinkle chili powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, fine salt, and black pepper over the mixture
  4. Toss the chicken and vegetables gently until everything is evenly coated in the seasoning
  5. Arrange the seasoned chicken and vegetables in an even layer inside the preheated air fryer basket
  6. Air fry at 175 °C (350 °F) for about 16–20 minutes, tossing halfway through cooking to promote even browning and cooking
  7. Check that the chicken pieces are fully cooked with no pink inside (internal temperature 74 °C / 165 °F)
  8. Remove everything from the air fryer and let rest briefly
  9. Serve hot with warmed tortillas and your favorite fajita garnishes
